I have thick curly hair that is almost to my shoulders. As it grows longer it bulks and gets poofy. I want to grow it below my shoulders-how can I do this so it is manageable?

My daughter has the same problem...However, I have found a solution. Get long layers cut into your hair and have it thinned out. Then go to walmart and get some frizz-ease serum for your hair. It will smooth it out nicely and make it soft and shiny. You can also get a hair straightener and keep it straight till it grows out more. But defenitely get it thinned out by a professional and maybe some long layers. My daughter's hair is thick, curly, and red. She looks like she has an afro if she doesn't take care of it right! Good luck!

I have really thick hair- it's just not curly. I let it get to my waist. Just wash it every day with shampoo and a bit of conditioner and brush it smooth. With the conditioner, your hair should not be that hard to take care of. Well, I got my hair cut, like, yesterday, so now it's short. I miss my long hair!

Thinning Shears...they look like scissors, but don't shorten your hair where you put them, they cut some hair out to thin it, I knew a guy who would put them against his scalp and cut that way, it took allot of hair, but his hair was so thick you couldn't tell.

I have thick hair. It's a couple inches past my shoulder. I use shampoos for dry/damaged hair being that I blow-dry my hiar like twice a week. I also use a flat iron, but not too often, It really damages the hair. I just recently started using some leave-in conditioner from garnier, or however you spell it. And, even though its really expensive (80 bucks for a huge bottle, 15 bucks for a 2oz bottle)biosilk works wonders. I only get my hair trimmed like every 3 to 4 months also.I have my hair cut into long layers, thats the only way I can manage it.
