I'm a guy with medium-length, thick, curly hair...?

Instead of it being long the way you'd imagine hair to be, all it does is expand into a frizzy afro. How can I keep it clean looking and reduce its volume? Preferably without gel, if possible.

Well us girls can buy hair products for curly hair which claims to tame your locks. There's no reason why a guy shouldn't use them! Check out Sainsbury's or Boots. Maybe try some hair serum - you only need a little drop for it to be effective, and it tames the frizziness.

Which reminds me - there's a product range called 'Frizz Ease' which is sold in supermarkets, etc.

Good luck - I'm sure you look gorgeous!

what you could do is try some good conditioner, one that reduces frizz, you can also buy anti frizz serums by Joshua galvin is the one i use not only does it reduce frizz, but it smells good too...

You could always try a diffuser (this will keep the curl together)on a hairdryer after you have applied the serum, the serum should reduce the frizz alone. i would also recommend some shine spray again by Joshua Galvin which has a leave in conditioner, that might help, it really does sound like you need to give it some TLC.. you will see a difference but it wont happen over night! My hair used to be frizzy, but with all the products i have advised you to try have made mine better, so go ahead try the same and good luck!!!!.

Hi. I have biracial daughters who have silky but curly hair (caucasian texture).

The BEST thing you can do for your hair is to NOT comb or brush it when it's dry.

When your hair is wet, put a tiny pea size drop of Fusion (FX) Silk Drops that are in the caucasian hair section, in the palm of your hands, rub together and work through your hair, then comb it. Then let your hair dry naturally.

You will have wonderful curly, not frizzy locks. Combing or brushing curly hair when it's dry will give you a big ole fro and your curls won't be defined.

My daughters are always complimented on how beautiful their hair is. Perfect strangers will touch it and stuff.

Please do try that and let me know how it goes.

Build a good relationship with a hairdresser, and one should be able to advise you.

There is a brand called Frizzease which is VERY good. It is available in Boots and other supermarkets
