when I leave my hair to dry naturally, without doing anything to it after the shower, it gets really "big" and frizzy. My hair is naturally wavy if I put it in a ponytail, but when I leave it down without doing anything with it (after the shower) it gets huge. Is there a good inexpensive shampoo/conditioner to get rid of frizz that works without having to go out and buy some kind of serum? If not, any other suggestions?

Wow, to be so fortunate. Find you a good cosmetology school (beauty college)and go in and get an opinion from one of the instructors. It's good information by a professional, and it's cheap(probably cheaper than most good shampoo and conditioner that may or may not work).

first do a vinegar wash, then no conditioner it will wash out the vinegar. it sounds weird but just try it please you will see a huge difference. to cover up the strong smell follow with some Paul Mitchell's awapui spray. twice a week pack hair in real mayo for 10 minutes and wash with regular shampoo and follow with protein 21 moisturizing spray. enjoy the new hair. good luck please try it

Try Vive shampoo and conditioner. It says it's for "women of color" but I'm a white girl with naturally curly, DAMAGED hair and it's been wonderful.

I like Garnier Fructis, I use their shampoo and conditioner. After I shower I brush my hair until it's smooth and straight. Then I put a little bit of gel or hairspray at the roots to keep the frizz down. I let it dry naturally but if I'm going outside then I keep it in a loose ponytail so that it doesn't puff out. When my hair dries, or when I get to work, I put a little more gel/spray where it needs it.
Lots of people don't know the best way to brush hair. Instead of starting at your roots and working your way down, you should start at the ends and work your way up, this is my best way of dealing with knots. I don't mean brush UP (that would be painful and silly), but start brushing down, starting at the ends, working your way up.

The next time you get a hair cut ask your stylist to thin your hair.
As far as the frizz goes. There is a product by "I. S. O." called "Bouncy Cream". It will control frizz. It does work. I have natural curl and use the product daily. "I. S. O. is not sold in stores only available in salons. Call the salons in your area and find out who sells "I. S. O"
I've been a licensed cosmetologist for thirty years.
Hope this helps.

you need to apply a styling lotion after you shampoo and condition it. comb the lotion through and let it dry, do not use a brush this is what helps make it frizzy

I have the same problem. My hair is frizzy, thick, damaged. I tried every shampoo/conditioner basically out there nothing helps. I tired straigtening irons etc. Now I just use mousse and gel, hairspray an scrunch it while blow drying. It makes it like a natural or permed look. But if you want to try a good shampoo an conditioner try the frizz ease shampoo/conditioner an the frizz ease hair serum it does help. Give it a try an let me know how either of them work. And good luck.

you should use a frizzease shampoo %26amp; conditioner- they work for me, or my stylist gave me a shampoo i believe it was by sorbie that really helped to control frizz. i also put a small dime-size amount of a silicon-base texturizing cream to prevent frizz and pouffiness from humidity and other external factors. works for me (and i have crazy curly hair!) so i hope it'll work for you too =]

IF YOU WANT SOFT HAIR DO THIS:
I DO THIS TO MY HAIR IT MAKES IT SUPER SOFT:
YESSS I HAVE OVERDONE-COLOR-TREATED HAIR (REALLY DRY AND FRIZZY)!
go to wal mart and you can by "GARNIER FRUCTiS SLEEK%26amp;SHINE ANTI-FRIZZ SERUM" (it comes in a green round ball with a soap-like dispenser)
after you wash hair with the oh so silkening "Dove moisturinging shampoo and conditiner, towel dry hair is its still damp. rub a SMALL amount (size of a quarter) onto palms then into hair. then let it airdry until its FULLY dried.
after that you can straighten hair with a straighten iron by itself with no chemicals and it will come out AWESOME!
good luck :)
