I'm male. My hair is really dark brown and extremely thick. I look good with medium hair (2.5inches long) but my hair is TOO THICK!

How can I make it thinner (products preferred, certain hair routines, etc)? I don't want perms.

thinning shears will do the trick but i dont recommend them. later on they make your hair fall out more. so when brushing it you have even more lose strands. its a pain!
